Event Details

Industry panel discussing the application of social media platforms in the clean technology field.  Panelists will range from established social media cleantech groups to new clean tech initiatives seeking to capitalize on social media techniques.  This event will provide tremendous exposure to the Los Angeles Clean Technology community.


Moderator 

  • Stan HoltCOO/President
  • OnGreenWorld's largest cleantech marketplace
    • Stanley Holt has been building online marketplaces for 14 years. As the VP of Publishing at his last two companies, Internet Brands and eHarmony, he managed more than 50 automotive, home, wedding and parenting sites. Those sites utilize content, tools and community to connect users and businesses. Stan helped bring more than 12 million monthly unique visitors and advertisers to his clients, and matched more than a million users with 11,000 vendors.
    • Prior to that, Stan was the general manager of the Los Angeles Times' calendarlive.com. Stan has an M.B.A. from UCLA and holds a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. He also has a B.A. in urban affairs from Haverford College.

  • Nikhil Jain, Founder/CEO
  • OnGreenWorld's largest cleantech marketplace
    • Nikhil's expertise revolves around building businesses and teams from just an idea phase with a specialization in internet/web technologies, software and green businesses. A serial entrepreneur with the mindset of a management consultant, Nikhil has helped his clients succeed through careful planning, analysis and execution. Nikhil has consulted various Fortune 500 clients in industries such as retail, utilities, manufacturing, healthcare and helped with implementing multi-million dollar projects and advising on mergers and acquisitions. 
    • Nikhil currently sits on the Mentoring Committee of the Los Angeles Business Technology Center and the Executive Committee of the Caltech MIT Enterprise Forum. He is the Founder of OnGreen, Inc., which is on its way to becoming the world's largest clearinghouse for greentech and is also a General Partner at Blue Marble Ventures, a microfund focussed towards green technology investments. Nikhil has a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Finance from USC's Marshall School of Business.
  • Chathri Munasinghe, Director of New Media
  • Opportunity GreenCleantech business group fostering collaboration among industry leaders
    • Chathri Munasinghe is a rising star in the social media arena and the Director of New Media of Opportunity Green, the #1 ranked Google Green Conference. Her work with Opportunity Green gained the company the runner up award in the green category of The Shorty Awards, the Oscars for Twitter held annually in New York City. Chathri currently creates social media strategies for startups and produces her own tech news podcast, Tech by Southwest

      Chathri gained her MBA in strategy from UCI Merage School of Business and her undergraduate degree in business from USC Marshall School of Business. She guest lectures on green marketing at UCLA Extension, UCLA Anderson, and UCI Merage School of Business. This fall, Chathri will be leading the Opportunity Green Social Media for Green Workshop at the NYC POLY Clean Tech incubator in New York City. 

  • Erik Steeb, LA Chair
  • Cleantech OpenFinding, fostering, and funding successful cleantech startups
    • Erik Steeb is co-founder and managing partner of Segue Consulting Services, helping small to mid-size technology businesses expand operations, reach and revenue through innovative solutions in marketing, business development, operations and finance management. Mr. Steeb has 20 years leadership experience in high tech. Prior to founding Segue, Mr. Steeb held director positions in business development, marketing and sales with Intel. He was co-founder of the Intel’s alliances and business development organization, lead Intel’s EMEA Marketing group and a worldwide sales organization delivering over $6B in annual revenue.

      Mr. Steeb holds a BSEE from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School. He volunteers with Grid Alternatives, Habitat for Humanity and is the Los Angeles chair for CleanTech Open.

  • Vincent Williams
  • PGA GreenEducating, promoting, and inspiring sustainable production practices
    • Vincent is a New Media geek at heart with an incredibly creative streak. His accomplishments include work on DVD titles from Universal Studios, Metro Goldwyn Mayer, Warner Brothers and four years producing digital content at MTV. Some of his previous employers include FOX, The RAND Corporation, The Learning Company and many more.


      He is a proud member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Interactive Media Peer Group and the PGA's New Media Council. In his spare time Vincent has lectured at UCLA extension and volunteers with local entertainment charities.
